Dorien Deschamps
Visual Artist
Artist Statement
I am a visual artist based near Brussels, Belgium.
Passionate about mixed media work through collage, printmaking, painting and photography. I work very experimental and my creation develops through the materials I use. My art is informed by the texture, patterns and light of the rural and urban landscapes as observed by my daily walks near my home and during my travels.

All my creations are discoveries, spontaneous and unconstructed. I love the small little things and try to capture the layers of time... the cycle of birth - growth - decay - rebirth... and the imperfections of life.
My fascination is using photographs and sketches to abstracting the essence of the rural or urban environment in richly colored and textured abstracted art.
Recent Work
Latest Exhibitions
Recent work includes a series of collages on paper and canvas or canvasboard with self-painted and printed papers. Very often I am integrating own photographs, magazine and book pages, gelli printed papers, textiles and found objects. I use acrylic paint, oil paint or ink. My work is very experimental and develops through the materials I use.
